Based in Lancaster, with over 20 years’ experience, our chartered surveyors do whatever it takes to guarantee your property is energy efficient and legally compliant. We work with a range of property professionals, from architects, surveyors and local authorities to private investors, pension fund administrators, property developers, and building services consultants.

Over the last 10 years, our offering and expertise has evolved into more than just providing EPCs. We work closely with a range of clients including architects, developers, investors, local authorities and self-builders. Our expertise is being able to solve problems, taking complex issues and delivering workable solutions. The majority of our work focuses on energy performance, sustainability and compliance.

Meet the team

Jonathan Murton

Managing Director

Jonathan is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), with over 20 years’ experience as both a surveyor and consultant to the building industry.

He is a qualified energy assessor, for existing and new buildings, and employs modern surveying techniques to apply his craft. These include CAD, 3D-simulation and building information modelling, as well as the use of unmanned aircraft for aerial surveys. In the past, Jonathan has trained up aspiring energy assessors and created bespoke courses for City & Guilds qualifications. He has also worked as an RICS counsellor for the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) programme and as an advisor for the government’s Green Deal.

“I’m keen to provide an open, honest and top-quality service to my clients,” says Jonathan. “It’s building those relationships that really makes my work special, along with seeing my clients reap the benefits of a job well done.”

Caroline Lavelle

Operations Director

With a background in the retail sector, Caroline brings attention to detail and a drive for customer satisfaction to Murton & Co. She works closely with all our clients to keep an open line of communication, which helps operations run smoothly.
